George Wilkinson

A professional lifetime in law, wide experience in a range of non-executive director, chair, and trustee roles, and extensive research with partners in a number of the UK’s leading law firms, have given George a real world understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in a wide variety of career transitions.

George brings to each coaching engagement a practical and effective approach that is grounded in his deep knowledge of and his own experience both in and working for professional services firms.

Alongside working with Milestones and acting as a mentor to young lawyers, George chairs Bridge Support, a South East London based charity supporting people with long-term mental health conditions in the community, is a trustee of Careif, a London based mental health charity supporting people and communities across the world to share knowledge to improve services and change lives, and of MAKE Southwest, a South West Crafts education charity and exhibition space for contemporary craft and design. George recently stepped down as Lead Governor of a mental health NHS Foundation Trust.

George has more than 40 years’ experience as a trusted professional adviser/director/chair “in the boardroom” of a diverse range of UK companies, public sector bodies, and charities. Coupled with this are the insights George has gained from extensive research with partners in a number of the UK’s leading law firms, giving him a real understanding of the challenges involved in a wide variety of career transitions.

Alongside working with Milestones, George chairs a charity in South East London, is Secretary to a charitable foundation, and has recently stepped down as Lead Governor of a mental health NHS Foundation Trust.
